Vivek Oberoi opens up about his break-up; says, ‘It made me very cynical and bitter, I just wanted to have flings
Vivek Oberoi recently completed 20 years in the industry and in one of his media interactions, the actor opened up about his past love life. The actor has been married to Priyanka Alva for more than a decade and has two kids. He was once in a relationship with Aishwarya Rai, but they broke up in 2003 when Vivek claimed that Salman Khan had threatened him.
He recalled a bad experience in his relationship that left him cynical and bitter. Vivek said that he had reached a point where he only wanted to have casual relations; he had several flings that only left him feeling even more lonely.
Earlier about what he has learnt over the years, Vivek had said, “If I had to think back and really nitpick, I think I would not have mixed my personal and professional life. And that’s something that I always tell young people who come to me. Because being actors, being emotional, people, being artists, it’s very easy to blend the two and then you make mistakes, wrong decisions.
So, you have to be very responsible with what you’ve been given because there are no two ways about it. There must be a million, much more talented actors than me, but I’ve got the opportunity and I’ve been blessed. And that’s a responsibility.
You have to take care of it.
You can’t treat it casually like I did! In my life, I have made the mistake of blending the two and not treated it with the respect that it deserves separately. Your art has to be sacrosanct. Your career is your art and therefore your career has to be sacrosanct.”
Vivek was last seen in a biopic ‘PM Narendra Modi’ and a Kannada action thriller ‘Rustum’. He will be next seen in horror-thriller ‘Rosie The Saffron Chapter’, which marks the Bollywood debut of Shweta Tiwari’s daughter Palak Tiwari. The film also stars Mallika Sherawat and Arbaaz Khan.
