Vivek Oberoi Recalls Being ‘Threatened By Underworld’, Wanted To ‘Cut Him To Size’

Actor Vivek Oberoi recently opened up about a challenging phase in his life, where he faced both professional and personal turmoil, including threats from the underworld and severe financial difficulties. Speaking candidly on Dr. Jai Madaan’s YouTube channel, Vivek described the period as the lowest point of his career, when he felt both ostracized from the film industry and burdened by financial strain.

Vivek revealed that his career took a sharp downturn after a public feud with actor Salman Khan, which caused him to fall out of favour within Bollywood. “There was a time when I entered a conflict zone in my career, and because of that, I faced a lot of financial strain. I was very stressed,” Vivek admitted. During this difficult period, he received threatening calls from underworld elements. He described these threats as a new and terrifying experience in his life. “I’d never experienced anything like this. All of this happened together,” he said.

The actor went on to explain how the situation escalated when his family became targets. “My dad would pick up the phone and someone would threaten him; my mother would answer the phone and someone would threaten her,” Vivek recounted, explaining how the fear extended to his sister as well. Initially, the family thought the calls were pranks, but the police later confirmed the threats were serious.

Although Vivek did not disclose the specific nature of the threats, he shared that they aimed to “cut him to size.” This period of harassment came at a time when he was also dealing with a troubled personal relationship. Despite these overwhelming challenges, Vivek found solace in the support he received, even if it came in small gestures. Reflecting on the industry’s response to his struggles, he said, “A lot of people showed support in their way. I prefer appreciating people, even if they make small gestures. Expectation is the root cause of pain.”

Over time, Vivek managed to overcome these challenges and rebuild his life. Today, he not only enjoys a successful acting career but also balances his professional life with thriving business ventures, establishing himself as an entrepreneur. His journey from a difficult period of financial and emotional strain to becoming a successful businessman stands as a testament to his resilience and perseverance.
