Everyone is aware that Kareena Kapoor was originally cast as Hrithik Roshan’s love interest in Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai. But then Ameesha Patel joined the team in her place. Ameesha Patel recently revealed in an interview with Bollywood Bubble that Kareena Kapoor did not voluntarily withdraw from Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai, but rather, Rakesh Roshan asked her to leave the film owing to creative issues.
According to Ameesha Patel, Rakesh Roshan spilled the beans on Kareena. Explaining further, she continued by saying that Rakesh Roshan’s wife Pinkie was very concerned about finding a substitute for Kareena in only three days, as the sets for Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai were already completed. Above all, Pinkie Aunty, his wife and Hrithik’s mum, said that they were shocked because the set was ready and a replacement Sonia had to be found in three days and crores of rupees (had been spent on that set) and it had Hrithik’s debut and everyone was really stressed’, Ameesha Patel was quoted as saying. “Rakesh didn’t get any rest after seeing me at the wedding, according to what Pinky aunty informed me. Sonia, Sonia, I got my Sonia, but I hope you say yes! he kept repeating to himself”.

Previously, Kareena Kapoor Khan had discussed her decision to skip filming Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai. In an interview with Filmfare, she expressed relief that she was not cast in the film. The actress added that in the film director Rakesh Roshan chose to focus on his son, Hrithik Roshan. Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai was a huge hit and helped Hrithik Roshan to set his Bollywood career.
