Vivek Agnihotri’s upcoming film ‘The Bengal Files’ is again in the discussions for showing the horrific glimpse of the Kolkata riots of 1946. It seems to be a habit of Vivek to be in controversies since he is trolled for using the name ‘Taimur’ in his film. Those who have seen the trailer feel that Vivek has deliberately kept the name ‘Taimur’ in his film to show it as ugly, which is the name of Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan’s child.

However, Vivek has also given clarification on this issue. Once again, he was seen talking about it and said, ‘We are the fools who name them after them.’ Actually, Vivek Agnihotri has already said that countrymen should not keep such names. He was asked in a recent interview what he would like to say to Saif and Kareena for keeping such a name. Vivek replied and said, ‘We are the fools who name them after them.’

He further said, ‘Saif…a wonderful personality, Kareena…a wonderful actress, and Taimur…wish you all the best.’ He was told, ‘Taimur is the name in your film’. The director clearly said, ‘This is not about him, there are many other names…many people live in Bengal. I have kept the name Taimur because it is a metaphorical name. I am telling so that people do not create controversy. When I went to Uzbekistan to shoot The Tashkent Files, there is a Taimurlanki mausoleum in Samarkand, and it is written outside it.’

Agnihotri said, ‘It is written outside it that the people there wanted to give him the title of emperor. He had said that I would not wear the emperor’s crown until I conquer the richest kingdom in the world. The name of that rich kingdom was Delhi. Then he brought his army of 1 lakh people and burnt 1 lakh houses in one night and killed our people.’
