‘We Had A History’: Rashami Desai Opens Up About Strained Relationship With Late Actor Siddharth Shukla

Television actress Rashami Desai recently reflected on her complicated relationship with late actor Siddharth Shukla on and off-screen. Best known for her role in Uttaran, Rashami shared her experiences on comedian Bharti Singh’s podcast, discussing their professional and personal differences.

A History of Conflicts

Rashami and Siddharth co-starred in Dil Se Dil Tak, but their relationship was far from smooth. “I have worked with Siddharth and have had a very different experience. People saw us fight on Bigg Boss, but that was because we had a history,” she revealed. The actress admitted that their differences escalated over time, leading to a prolonged cold war.

“For 1.5 to 2 years, we had so many issues that we wouldn’t even speak to each other. We didn’t talk for nine months because our differences were so strong. However, when it came to work, we remained professional,” Rashami added.

Siddharth Was Not a Bad Person, Says Rashami

Despite their strained relationship, Rashami clarified that Siddharth was not a bad person. “We had our professional and personal issues, but that doesn’t mean he was wrong. I never spoke about our personal history before, and I won’t now either. I respect that. Now that he is no longer with us, discussing it doesn’t make sense,” she said.

The actress also acknowledged that her emotional struggles in 2018 affected her dynamics with Siddharth. “It was a tough year for me. He knew about it, and when we were in Bigg Boss together, he silently supported me. During the family week, he brought me water—only he understood what I was going through. There was an unspoken understanding between us,” Rashami shared.

Fond Memories of Siddharth

Despite their differences, Rashami fondly recalled Siddharth’s bond with her family. “My niece adored him. She would run to meet him first on set, and he would play with her. He loved kids, and even though we had conflicts, I never stopped them from interacting,” she added.

Rashami, a popular face in Indian reality television, has appeared in shows like Nach Baliye 7, Bigg Boss 13, Naagin 4, and Ladies vs Gentlemen.

Siddharth Shukla, known for his performances in Balika Vadhu and Bigg Boss 13, passed away at the age of 40 due to a heart attack.
