TV actor Ali Asgar is popular among masses for his portrayal of ‘Dadi’ on Comedy Nights With Kapil. But it was not this show that earned Asgar all the fame that he owns today. He actually tasted success with Balaji Telefilms Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii, where he played the role of protagonist Parvati’s (aka Sakshi Tanwar) brother-in-law, Kamal. Many still remember him by this name only.
As the show is back on TV for a re-run, Ali recalled the shooting days of the same. He pondered upon past and revealed interesting details from the sets of the iconic show. While talking to a leading daily, Ali disclosed, “There were no vanity vans at that time and the entire cast of the show would adjust with only two make-up rooms inside the Balaji office.”
Speaking about the long working hours, Ali said, “We were very raw then. All of us on that show were hungry for work. There was some serious work, but we had some fun times also. The work hours were really long, almost 16-17 hours in a day.”
Ali further revealed that nobody would ever complain about the long time they used to invest in shoots. He quoted, “We would do it wholeheartedly. No one would complain about lack of sleep or anything. Not because the show was a hit, but because we wanted to do it. Then people would give feedback that we want a son like you and I felt like ‘Pappu paas hua hai.’”
For a change, Ali recently participated in dance reality show, Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 10. But unfortunately, he became the first contestant to be eliminated from the show. He is a part of Kartik Aaryan starrer Shehzada.
