Welcome, Stree 2 Actor Mushtaq Khan Was ‘Kidnapped’, ‘Tortured For 12 Hours’, Claims Business Partner
Renowned actor Mushtaq Khan, known for his roles in Welcome and Stree 2, was allegedly kidnapped and tortured for 12 hours after being lured under the pretext of attending an event. His business partner, Shivam, revealed the details of the harrowing incident to India Today Digital.
Khan had reportedly been invited to an event with flight tickets and an advance payment transferred to his account. Upon arriving at Delhi airport, he was directed to a car that took him to the outskirts of Delhi, near Bijnor. Shivam stated that the kidnappers subjected the actor to 12 hours of torture and demanded a ransom of ₹1 crore. During the ordeal, they allegedly withdrew over ₹2 lakh from Khan and his son’s bank accounts.
Escape and Police Intervention
Mushtaq Khan managed to escape early the next morning when he heard the Azaan (Islamic call to prayer), signaling the presence of a nearby mosque. Seizing the opportunity, he fled the house and sought help from locals and the police to return home safely.
Shivam said the ordeal left Khan and his family deeply shaken. “Mushtaq sir was determined to file an FIR once he composed himself. I traveled to Bijnor yesterday to file the complaint. We have strong evidence, including flight tickets, bank transactions, and CCTV footage near the airport. He even remembers the neighborhood and the house where he was held. I believe the police will apprehend the culprits soon,” Shivam said.
A Worrying Trend
Khan’s case follows a similar incident involving comedian Sunil Pal, who was kidnapped while en route to Haridwar for a private event. Pal’s kidnappers demanded ₹20 lakh as ransom but eventually released him after receiving ₹8 lakh.
Mushtaq Khan’s business partner expressed concern over the safety of public figures. “We were unaware of Sunil Pal’s case until Mushtaq sir shared his ordeal with close friends. It’s alarming that two celebrities from the industry faced similar incidents. Awareness and protection are crucial for preventing such crimes,” Shivam added.
Currently, Khan is recovering and is expected to address the media soon. Police investigations are underway to bring the perpetrators to justice.
