Kangana Ranaut and Urmila Matondkar’s dispute made headlines after the two were discovered to be involved in a verbal altercation. The cause for the latter has now been made public on social media through a video.
OnceKangana Ranaut called Urmila Matondkar a ‘soft porn star’
Kangana Ranaut stirred controversy in a September 2020 interview with Times Now when she referred to Urmila Matondkar as a’soft porn star’. Kangana was overheard refuting Urmila’s disparaging remarks about her throughout the interview. In an attempt to curry favour with the BJP party in exchange for a ticket to run in the polls at that time, Kangana disclosed how the Rangeela actress made light of her hardships. Kangana also made a contentious remark on Urmila, saying:
“I saw one very derogatory interview given by Urmila Matondkar. The way she was talking about me, pulling faces, making a mockery about my struggles, attacking me on the fact that I am trying to appease the BJP for a ticket. One doesn’t have to be a genius to figure that for me it is not very difficult to get a ticket. Urmila is a soft porn star. She is not known for her acting for sure, what is she known for? For doing soft porn right. If she could get a ticket, why wouldn’t I get a ticket?”
Urmila Matondkar’s interview, calling Kangana Ranaut ‘rudali’ resurfaces
Urmila was previously interviewed and asked about Kangana’s various charges against film industry wrongdoers. In response, Urmila disclosed that Kangana is incapable of controlling a single tongue; instead, she frequently rants about strange subjects. In addition, Urmila had referred to Kangana as “rudali.” Now, a Reddit member posted the video on social media, and a lot of other internet users quickly began commenting on it. Click here to watch.
When Urmila Matondkar was ready to apologise to Kangana Ranaut after calling her ‘rudali’
Urmila was prepared to apologise to Kangana for her remarks, which she made after calling her a “rudali.” In a conversation with Barkha Dutt, Urmila recalls referring to Kangana by that moniker because the latter is constantly lamenting the abuse she has endured in the film industry. Urmila added, nevertheless, that she would “absolutely not hesitate” to apologise if Kangana or her supporters were offended by it. She declared:
“I said rudali in a certain context, and if at all it was offensive, I have absolutely no qualms in saying I am sorry about it. Maybe not her, maybe the people who support her so dearly. So I am sorry if anything like that has gone out of context. It doesn’t make me small.”
In the same conversation, Urmila did, however, also clarify the reason behind her remark about Kangana using that particular moniker. Afterwards, Urmila said she didn’t regret uttering the word. Urmila then asked Kangana a follow-up question, asking if she had ever been badly treated by somebody. Additionally, Urmila stated:
“It was used by me in a context. I have not understood why a person constantly chooses to only play a victim card. You and I can also do that. When you have had such a long and lovely career in the industry, which has given you so much, are you trying to say that there was nothing good about it? There was not a single person, day, anything that happened good?”
