Here’s Why Karan Wanted To Kill Anushka’s Career

It was in 2016, the filmmaker confessed that he wanted to almost sabotage her film career. Anushka was launched in 2008 by Yash Raj Films in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. But Karan asked Aditya Chopra not to launch her as he wanted Sonam Kapoor in it. Anushka made her debut with Shah Rukh Khan and the movie was a superhit but Karan watched it reluctantly. Later, he was impressed when he saw Anushka in Band Baaja Baaraat.

It was dring the 18th MAMI Mumbai Film Festival in 2016, Karan made this revelation. He was on stage with lead actors of his film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil, Anushka Sharma and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

It was during his interaction with Rajeev Masand and Anupama Chopra, KJo had said that he totally wanted to, ‘completely murder’ Anushka Sharma’s career as when Aditya Chopra showed her image, he said no and asked Adi if he was mad to sign her.

Karan also added that after he watched Band Baaja Baaraat, he called her and felt like he owed her an apology and a compliment. He wanted to apologised because he felt embarrassed that he would have actually ‘ruined the graph of such an exceptional talent’ and wanted to compliment her because he thought she was amazing in the film.

Well, Anushka worked in Karan’s film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and it did well. Today, she is one of the successful actors. She is making her comeback in the big screen with Chakda Xpress.
