Bollywood stars are always under the fire of the audience’s anger for pan masala ads. Recently, Shahrukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Tiger Shroff, along with the chairman of JB Industries, were issued notices for an alleged misleading ad of Vimal Pan Masala. The objection was that when the market price of saffron is more than Rs 5 lakh per kg, then how is it possible for every grain of Rs 5 pouch to have real saffron?

Now the Jaipur Consumer Forum has sought answers from the company and the artists who did the ad through a notice. Let us tell you that the State Consumer Forum has shown strictness regarding the advertisement of Vimal Pan Masala. The commission has issued notices to the company as well as Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Tiger Shroff. This controversy is about the claim of the ad that says, ‘Every grain has the power of saffron.’

Let us tell you that in this case, the petitioner has appealed to the actors that the national awards should be taken back from these artists who did such advertisements. Apart from this, a demand has also been made to ban the production and sale of pan masala and to impose a fine of Rs 50 lakh on the company.

Let us tell you here that earlier on August 12, the District Consumer Commission had rejected this petition. After this, the matter has now reached the State Commission. Now the State Consumer Forum has sent a notice to the company and the artists doing the ad and has sought a reply in this matter. The Commission believes that consumers are misled by such ads, and this is a violation of the rules. After this notice, the debate has once again intensified regarding the false claims made in the advertisement and the selection of film stars for advertising. Yogendra Singh Badiyal, a resident of Jaipur, had complained that JB Industries manufactures Vimal Pan Masala and supplies it for sale across the country.
