Who Threatened Shah Rukh Khan For Rs 50 Lakh? Phone Traced Back To Raipur Lawyer

Mumbai police have traced a recent death threat made against Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan to a phone reportedly belonging to a lawyer from Raipur, authorities confirmed on Thursday. The incident, which occurred earlier this week, prompted a police investigation after the actor was threatened with fatal consequences unless a ransom of ₹50 lakh was paid.

The threatening call was received by Mumbai’s Bandra Police Station on Tuesday, with the caller demanding the sum from Khan and warning of dire consequences if the money was not handed over. Authorities quickly launched an investigation, and the call was traced to Raipur, prompting a team from Mumbai police to travel there.

Faizan Khan, a lawyer based in Raipur, has claimed that his phone was stolen three days before the threat call, on November 2, and that he had filed a report with local police regarding the theft. “My phone was stolen, and I immediately lodged a complaint. I informed Mumbai police about it as well, and they interrogated me for about two hours,” Faizan Khan told the media.

While the lawyer insists his phone was stolen and that he was not involved in making the threat, he raised concerns that the incident may be a conspiracy against him. “Whoever has made the call from my phone, it seems intentional. I think it is a conspiracy,” Khan said. Mumbai police are working closely with their counterparts in Raipur to investigate the matter further and determine who may have used the stolen device to make the threatening call.

This incident is the latest in a series of high-profile threats against Bollywood celebrities. Earlier this year, actor Salman Khan received death threats from the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, leading to an increase in his security detail. Khan now has Y-plus security, which includes armed personnel stationed at his residence 24/7.

In a related development, Faizan Khan had previously complained against Shah Rukh Khan in connection with a dialogue from the actor’s 1994 film “Anjaam”, which he found offensive due to its references to deer hunting. Khan, who hails from Rajasthan, claimed that the dialogue hurt the sentiments of the Bishnoi community, which holds protecting deer as a religious duty.

The investigation into the threat against Shah Rukh Khan is ongoing, with police working to verify the sequence of events surrounding the alleged phone theft and track down the individual behind the call.
