Aamir Khan is an amazing actor and is called ‘Mr. Perfectionist’ because of the intensity with which he plays every character and gets into it. But do you know that Aamir Khan has also been a great tennis player? Aamir used to play tennis in his youth and was also the Maharashtra State Champion. But he later quit playing tennis and came completely into films. What was the reason for quitting tennis, Aamir himself has told.

Aamir Khan is currently in London, where he went to watch Wimbledon 2024. Here Aamir told former tennis player and commentator Vijay Amritraj about his tennis playing days. This conversation of theirs has been shared by Star Sports India.

When Vijay Amritraj talked to Aamir about tennis and told that he was a good player at the junior level and was also the Maharashtra State Champion, Aamir blushed and said that of course he was good at the game, but he does not think he would have been able to do anything in this field. He said, ‘I don’t think I could ever reach any significant level in this. But I really enjoyed the game and so I had a lot of fun while playing it. And then one day, my dad decided that I should stop playing. So I stopped playing.’

Aamir further said, ‘I think I am very happy where I am. And it is also good for tennis that I did not continue with it.’ Aamir Khan attended Wimbledon for the second time. Earlier, he had come to watch the men’s final in 2023 with all three children – Aira, Junaid and Azad. Talking about the professional front, Aamir will now be seen in the film ‘Sitare Zameen Par’. Apart from this, he also has a film with Rajkumar Santoshi and Sunny Deol.
