Why Allu Arjun Didn’t Meet Stampede Victim Family? ‘Was Advised Not To’
Following his release from jail, actor Allu Arjun has come under fire on social media for spending time with friends and family instead of visiting the second victim of the recent stampede at the Pushpa 2: The Rule premiere. The young victim, identified as Sri Tej, remains hospitalised in critical condition. Facing mounting criticism, the actor issued a public statement addressing the controversy.
Arrest and Release
Allu Arjun was arrested on Friday from his residence in connection with the tragic incident that occurred during the December 4 premiere at Sandhya Theatre, Hyderabad. The event saw chaotic scenes that led to a stampede, resulting in the death of 35-year-old Revathi and leaving her son, Sri Tej, critically injured.
The actor was released from Hyderabad jail on Saturday and returned home to an emotional welcome from his family. Videos and photos captured Allu Arjun being embraced by his loved ones, including his uncle, actor Chiranjeevi, whom he met later in the day.
Allu Arjun’s Statement
On Sunday, Allu Arjun addressed the backlash through a statement shared on Instagram, explaining why he had not visited the hospital to meet the child. “I remain deeply concerned about young Sri Tej, who is under constant medical care after the unfortunate incident,” he wrote.
The actor clarified that his legal team had advised him against visiting the victim or his family due to ongoing legal proceedings. “My prayers remain with them, and I remain committed to addressing their medical and family needs,” he added. Allu Arjun expressed hope for the boy’s recovery and said he looked forward to meeting the family at the earliest opportunity.
Social Media Backlash
The actor’s decision to spend time with his family and friends following his release has drawn sharp criticism online. Many questioned his priorities, accusing him of insensitivity toward the victims of the incident.
Actor’s Response to Tragedy
Speaking to the media, Allu Arjun extended condolences to the bereaved family and described the incident as a “truly accidental” event. “I was inside the theatre with my family, and the accident happened outside. It was unintentional, but my support will always be with the affected family,” he stated.
As investigations continue, the tragedy has sparked a broader conversation about crowd control and safety at high-profile events.
