Anurag Kashyap is a well-known director in Bollywood, having made several outstanding films. Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap has revealed that he is afraid of working with Shah Rukh Khan. He also explained the reason behind it.

Anurag Kashyap gave an interview to Humans of Cinema, in which he was asked why even though he likes Shah Rukh Khan so much, has he never worked with him.

To this, the director said, “I like Shah Rukh Khan’s film Chak De India, and I like him a lot. I want to work with him, but I am scared of his fans. In this era, I am scared of the fans of every big star. Fans typecast stars. If any actor does a film that deviates from the fans’ preferences, they immediately get tagged as rejected.

He expressed that he too likes their hero in just one genre. I want to make the kind of film that I like, not what the fans like. However, there are also consequences to this. I don’t want to mess with Shah Rukh Khan’s fans.”

In this interview, Anurag Kashyap further said that in Bollywood, heroes are considered gods in our country. Just like Iron Man and other superheroes in Hollywood, we have Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan here.

Messing with Shah Rukh Khan’s stardom is not something I can handle. If his film Fan had succeeded, I could confidently say that I could work with him.
