Kangana Ranaut has now turned to politics after a successful acting career and recently won the general elections from the Mandi constituency in Himachal Pradesh. The actress-turned-MP recently spoke about how she was approached to join politics after her debut film ‘Gangster’ and how she plans to balance her work in films with her duties as an MP.

In a recent interview, Kangana revealed that various members of her family have been approached by local political leaders before. According to the actress, ‘This is not the first time I have been approached to join politics, I have received many other offers before. Soon after Gangster, I was offered a ticket. My great-grandfather was an MLA at least three times. So when you are from such a family and taste some success, local leaders approach you. It is very common.’

Kangana further added, ‘Actually, my father got an offer. My sister was offered to join politics after she survived an acid attack. So it is not a big deal for us to get political offers. I was approached in 2019 as well. If I was not interested in it, I would not have really gone through so much trouble.’

Kangana did not stop there and further said, ‘I am not looking at it as just a break. This is a very tough place and I am ready. I think if God has given me this opportunity then I will definitely do it with full honesty. More than me, the people of Mandi want someone who will save them from corrupt people, and for this, they have chosen me. I do not want to disappoint them.’

Talking about how she will balance her life as an actress and politician, Kangana said, ‘I am one of those who follow their passion. If you see me in the film industry, I am an actress, writer, director, and producer and here in my political life, if I have to connect with the people here, I will go ahead with it. However, I will not deny that working in the film industry is easier than politics.’ Kangana had earlier hinted that she might retire from films if she wins the election.
