‘Would Have To Suffer Consequences’: Fawad Khan On His Return To Bollywood!

Pakistani actor Fawad Khan became a heartbeat of millions in India after appearing in several Bollywood films. His charming looks and top-notch acting skills made him a favourite of Indians in a blink of an eye. But due to political tensions between India and Pakistan, the actor had to bid adieu to the Hindi film industry.

Khan was on a sabbatical from acting for the last few years. Now, he is gearing up for the release of Bilal Lashari’s The Legend of Maula Jatt. In a recent interview, he opened up on his plans to return to Bollywood. He revealed that ‘political fallout’ has not impacted his relations with the people of Bollywood but if they collaborate, they would have to suffer the consequences of it. Also, he is not sure if anyone from India would like to work with him given the kind of equation between rival countries.

On being asked about his views on making a comeback to Hindi films, Fawad said, “The collaboration with the people that I got to know and the kinds of people I was exposed to there was a great experience and I really enjoyed it. The political fallout [between India and Pakistan] has not influenced our relationships, but it’s definitely made us very wary of answering such a question… It’s a good question but I can’t give a definitive answer until things stabilize and there are a lot of issues that need to be answered.”

Furthermore, he added, “I think it’s more of a question of whether someone else would like to work with me, instead of me working with others because fingers will be pointed at them. I’ll do my work and go away but then the people who’ll have to suffer are those who are who want to collaborate with me. And I care about that because they are going to live there, and they’re going to suffer the consequences.”

For the unknown, Fawad Khan made his Bollywood debut with Khoobsurat in 2014. He then appeared in Dharma Productions’ Kapoor & Sons (2016) and Ae Dil Hai Mushkil (2016). He was recently seen in the web series Ms Marvel on Disney+ Hotstar.
