Yo Yo Honey Singh Opens Up On His Mental Health For First Time, “Have A Problem In My Mind And…”

One of the well-known singers and rappers from the Punjabi music industry, Yo Yo Honey Singh needs no introduction. The name which made a rent-free space in the hearts of millions went missing for quite some time before making a full fledged comeback recently. In a latest interview, Singh opened up on his hiatus and answered questions arising in the minds of his fans regarding his break. He revealed that he suffered from bipolar disorder and had mental issues.

In this interview, Honey said, “There was a lot going on in life when I fell ill. I did a tour with Shah Rukh Khan. I had worked on a project of Star Plus, the name of which I had chosen. I designed this show for a whole year. When the show started, there was a lot of work. I was also doing a Punjabi film. Many things were happening. When I was on the sets of Raw Star, I was suffering from bipolar disorder and psychotic symptoms and I didn’t know that I had such a disease. Then I said something is wrong. There is some problem in my mind, something has happened. I need to fix it.”

Continuing his point, the ‘Lungi Dance’ singer stated, ‘It took me five years, I got better. After my recovery, I wanted to work on making music. I told my mother, I am unable to do anything. She told me, you started as a music producer, start writing beats… My songs became hits, I was making a comeback, but I was facing setbacks during my comeback.

Recalling the failure he faced in his comeback, Honey said, ‘I was fat, people said, this is not that look. My song was becoming a hit but people were not accepting me.’

Talking about his current state, the 39-year-old rapper shared that his health is fine now and his medication is also reduced a lot. “I was on 200 mg, right now its 25 mg. It’s just a maintenance dose.”

For the unknown, Yo Yo Honey Singh is known for songs like ‘Brown Rang’, ‘Blue Eyes’, and ‘Desi Kalakar’ among many others.
