‘You Are Telling Him Not To Sing Alcohol Songs, But Selling It Openly’, Badshah Came In Support of Diljit Dosanjh

One of the most popular and loved immensely his fans Punjabi singer and actor Diljit Dosanjh is on his Dil-Luminati tour these days. After completing his international tour now he is doing shows in India in several cities. Recently he made headlines ahead of his Hyderabad concert after receiving legal notice from the Telangana government for not singing any song involving drugs or alcohol. In the notice by the government to the singer, he was warned not to sing songs promoting alcohol, drugs, or violence during the concert.

Since the singer received the notice, there has been a debate about alcohol-themed songs being sung by singers and celebrities. At the same time, now rapper Badshah has also become a part of this debate since he has supported Diljit Dosanjh in this matter. Let us tell you that Rapper Badshah recently supported Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh in the ongoing debate on alcohol-themed songs being sung in musical concerts. Rapper also spoke of the clear double standard in targeting musicians, while alcohol is sold almost everywhere in the country.

In a recent interview with one of the media houses, Badshah clarified that he agrees with Diljit’s recent comments that the day liquor shops are closed across the country, he will stop singing alcohol-based songs. Let us tell you that Diljit made these comments after being instructed not to sing songs promoting alcohol in concerts. Rapper Badshah, who considers Diljit Dosanjh as his elder brother, said that the job of an artist is to show a mirror to society.

He further added, ‘He is absolutely right. You are telling him not to sing or make songs about alcohol, but still, you are selling alcohol everywhere openly. Why should he not sing such songs if you can sell it openly? An artist represents society and this is what makes them relevant and this is why people love them. They speak about things that the whole world wants to say.’
