In an emotional and triumphant moment, Adhyashree Upadhyay and Sukriti Paul emerged as the winners of the popular TV dance reality show, Super Dancer 5. Their exceptional performances, dedication, and talent earned them not only the coveted trophy but also a generous prize of ₹10 lakh each. For Adhyashree, the victory held even deeper significance. The young dancer from Assam dedicated her win to the legendary singer Zubeen Garg, the iconic singer from the region who tragically passed away in an accident just days earlier.

Let us tell you that Adhyashree had a personal connection with Zubeen, who had always been a strong supporter of her dreams. Adhyashree, who was just eight years old, shared a heartfelt tribute to Zubeen, recalling how he had predicted her victory. “Zubeen Mama is the pride of our Assam. Before I came to Mumbai for the show, he told me I would win. He had a way of motivating everyone around him, and when he said I would win, I knew I had to prove him right,” said Adhyashree, holding back tears.

The young dancer had promised Zubeen that she would show him the trophy after winning. “I cried when I learned that Zubeen Mama was no longer with us. I was deeply saddened, but I knew I had to keep my promise. I couldn’t go to see him before he passed away, but after the show, I went straight to Sonapur, Guwahati with the trophy to pay my respects.”

Upon reaching Sonapur, Adhyashree expressed her emotions, saying, “I bowed to Zubeen Mama and showed him the trophy. I told him, ‘Zubeen Mama, you told me to come back after winning and show you the trophy. I won and showed it to you, so now you should come back to us. Assam feels desolate without you.’” Adhyashree’s journey to success began at the tender age of two when she first started learning dance. She had previously been a finalist on the renowned dance reality show Dance India Dance Little Masters 5, where she finished as the second runner-up.
