1. Oppenheimer
Oppenheimer is a 2023 epic biographical thriller film written and directed by the British-American Filmmaker, Christopher Nolan. It stars Cillian Murphy as J. Robert Oppenheimer, the American theoretical physicist credited with being the “father of the atomic bomb” for his role in the Manhattan Project—the World War II undertaking that created the first nuclear weapons. The movie is based on the 2005 biography, American Prometheus: The Triumph and Tragedy of J. Robert Oppenheimer by Martin J. Sherwin and Kai Bird which chronicles the career of Oppenheimer, with the story primarily focusing on his studies, his direction of the Manhattan Project during World War II, and his eventual collapse from pride due to his 1954 security hearing. The film stars Emily Blunt as Oppenheimer’s wife “Kitty”, Matt Damon as head of the Manhattan Project Leslie Groves, Florence Pugh as Oppenheimer’s communist lover Jean Tatlock, and Robert Downey Jr. as U.S. Atomic Energy Commission member Lewis Strauss. The ensemble supporting cast includes Casey Affleck, Kenneth Branagh, Josh Hartnett, and Rami Malek.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is a 2023 American Animated Superhero Film featuring the Marvel Comics Character, Miles Morales or Spider-Man. It is directed by Kemp Powers, Joaquim Dos Santos, and Justin K. Thompson from the screenplay by Phil Lord, and Christopher Miller. The sequel to Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018), the film is set in a shared multiverse of alternate universes called the Spider-Verse. In the movie, Miles goes on an adventure with Gwen Stacy or Spider-Woman across the multiverse where he meets a team of Spider-People known as the Spider-Society, led by Miguel O’Hara or Spider-Man 2099, but comes into conflict with them over handling a new menace in the form of the Spot.

Barbie is a 2023 fantasy comedy film directed by Greta Gerwig from the screenplay she made with Noah Baumbach. It is based on the eponymous fashion dolls by Mattel and is the first live-action Barbie film after innumerable computer-animated films and specials. The film stars Margot Robbie as Barbie or the title character and Ryan Gosling as Ken and pursues the pair on a journey of self-discovery following an existential crisis. The supporting cast comprises America Ferrera, Kate McKinnon, Issa Rae, Rhea Perlman, and Will Ferrell.
