‘Cannot Even Provide…’: Hansal Mehta Lashes Out At Government After Facing Stomach Infection
Famous director Hansal Mehta is quite vocal on social media. He never shies away from bringing social and political issues to public notice. Recently, the filmmaker came forward to point out Maharashtra Government’s failure in providing safe and clean drinking water to its population. He did the same after getting stomach infection.
In a long tweet, Hansal accused the Mumbai government saying that people are getting infected because they are not supplying clean drinking water to households. He wrote, “I got a terrible stomach infection this morning before even eating something. Spoke to my family doctor. He informed me that he is getting at least 10 patients with similar symptoms every day. Some are even admitted to hospitals. It appears that this infection is due to some bug growing in our drinking water.”
The director further penned that it is ridiculous how a city which is the financial capital of the country and a state capital with two deputy CMs cannot provide basic clean drinking water to its citizens. He also mentioned about the dangerous roads, traffic, lack of preparedness for floods and the crumbling state of Mumbai’s infrastructure. Slamming the government, Hansal called it an ’embarrassing situation’. He said that all that the officials care about is power and filling their coffers.
For the unknown, Hansal Mehta’s recently released web series ‘Scoop’` received a lot of love from the audience. Talking about his upcoming project, he will soon come up with ‘The Buckingham Palace’. The film is likely to release by the end of this year.
