Chehre Actress Krystal D’Souza Felt Bad For Co-Star Rhea Chakraborty- Here’s What She Said
After a gap of around one and a half years, cinemas in most of the parts of India are finally gearing up to film releases. Last week, we saw Bell Bottom, starring Akshay Kumar alongside Vaani Kapoor and Huma Qureshi getting a theatrical release. Taking that rhythm forward, the film Chehre has also got released in cinemas. The film is directed by Rumy Jafry and features Emraan Hashmi and Amitabh Bachchan in the lead roles along with supporting actors Krystal D’Souza, Annu Kapoor, Siddhant Kapoor, Rhea Chakraborty, and Raghubir Yadav.
The film got delayed multiple times, first because of the Covid-19 pandemic and secondly due to the presence of Rhea Chakraborty in it. Rhea, who is playing a supporting role got into legal trouble after the death of her boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput last year. With Rhea getting trolled for her alleged misdeeds, netizens also started running trends to boycott the film Chehre which starred her in a supporting cast. But finally, the film has seen the light of the day, and even after so much hatred, it has opened to positive reviews. But because of all the negativity, makers have not given a space to Rhea in film posters.
Chehre is introducing a known face from the TV industry, Krystle D’Souza. In an interview with a media portal, Krystal on being asked if she is afraid that the controversies surrounding the film might take over the performance of the film replied, “Honestly, we had shot the film long before, so the performance of anyone wasn’t affected, but you wonder why these things are happening. More than anything else, I was feeling bad for Rhea as it is a big film for her as well. So, it felt unfair for her. We have a judicial system that can take care of such cases and that’s what the film is also about, that it’s the work of a judicial system to look into matters and why must others intervene in that. So, no, I didn’t feel it would hamper anyone’s performance. I just hope that when people see the film, they look at everyone’s individual performance and appreciate them.”
On being asked about one special memory while working on the film that has kind of stayed with her, and Krystal revealed, “I have worked for so many years in my life but my mom has never come on my set. But she came to the sets – for the first time – during the shoot of this film, and it wasn’t for me, but Amitabh Bachchan.”
Krystal is over the moon and feels herself to be lucky to star alongside big actors like Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi in her debut film. Talking about the same, Krystal elaborated, “I actually didn’t have any time for prep. The day I was cast, the very next day I went to the shoot. I couldn’t even soak in the fact that I had signed a film with Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Hashmi, and the flight tickets were in my hand. But as soon as I reached Delhi, my director came to my room, and back-to-back we rehearsed for two days constantly before we went on floors. But it was good as it did not look over-rehearsed as well.”
After Chehre, we really hope to see Krystal weaving her magic on the big screen again.
