Esha Deol Confesses She Regrets Rejecting Films Like ‘Omkara’ And ‘Golmaal’; Says ‘People Would Throw Slippers’
Esha Deol, an accomplished Bollywood actress, gained widespread fame for her impeccable acting sills and striking beauty. The actress is currently basking in the success of her short film, ‘Ek Duaa’ which received a dignitary mention at the 69th National Awards in the Non-Feature Films Category. Recently, the actress remembered her acting career and acknowledged to missing out some very recognized films. In the recent interview, Esha talked about her journey in the acting industry and feels regretful about rejecting highly successful films, ‘Golmaal’ and ‘Omkara’.
Esha Deol discloses rejecting highly successful films, Omkara and Golmaal
Bollywood actress, Esha Deol in an interview with Bollywood Bubble shared that if she names the films that she rejected over the years, people would throw slippers at her. Elaborating more about it, the actress revealed that she rejected Rohit Shetty’s film, ‘Golmaal’. In addition, she turned down a significant opportunity to work with Vishal Bhardwaj in his film, ‘Omkara’. Since the actress missed the golden opportunity, Vishal Bhardwaj roped in Bipasha Basu for the role. Reflecting on her guilty pain, Esha shared:
“I regret passing on Golmaal. If I name all the films that I passed on, people would want to throw a slipper at me. But honestly speaking the people who went on to do those films and those characters have done a fantastic job and I even rejected Omkara. I was asked for the role that Bipasha Basu ended up playing, but she was absolutely… she justified that role. I am glad she did it, she was so good.”

For the unversed, Esha Deol broke several barriers of hindrance when she became the first from the Deol family to make her career in acting. Not many are unaware that Esha’s father, Dharmendra was against the idea of her acting in films when she was only eighteen years old.
However, she convinced her father to allow her to act in films. During one interview, Esha was asked about why Dharmendra didn’t want her to act in the films as he is protective of her. In addition, the actress mentioned that Dharmendra is an orthodox Punjabi male, who is extremely protective about the women in his family.
