Provably Fair Crash Games Change the Way We Play Online Casino
Crypto Concepts Move to the Mainstream
Ever since the first online casinos appeared almost three decades ago, it has been all about getting more immersive and interactive. Present day internet gambling platforms offer gaming experiences with HD video streaming and augmented reality elements that are no less engaging than walking on an actual casino floor, and we’ve not even begun talking about virtual reality casinos.
Yet, an innovative casino gaming genre that has nothing of that, but is based on the very same concepts and principles that guide the world of Web3 and blockchain, has made the crossing from crypto casinos into mainstream online casino entertainment and has made big waves there.
Crash games, sometimes called Cash or Crash games, allow players to verify the fairness of all outcomes via its provably fair algorithms. Instead of the usual opaque random number generator that needs to be certified on a regular basis, RNG in crash games is done over a combined server and client seed.
The provable fairness, simple graphics, light data usage and low technical requirements, without missing on any modern-day features like high interactivity and chats, live statistics and leaderboards, combined with the intensive thrill of decision making and binary risk management, have proven irresistible for many online gaming enthusiasts.
The Hard Data behind Crash Games’ Success
Available hard data on Indian online casino operator turnovers and registered user gaming sessions shows that cash or crash games have been enjoying a consistent growth in popularity and revenues throughout 2022, but made a sudden massive hike towards the end of the summer.
One of the game studios developing mainly crash games – Spribe, received an almost 200 percent month-on-month upsurge in unique users from July to August on top of previous growth.
Comparing the first ten months of 2022 (Jan to Oct) to the first three months after the surge in online traction (Aug to Oct), turnovers generated by games from Spribe like Aviator, Mines, Goal, and Plinko rose by 44.2 percent, while their active user count grew by 66.68 percent.
One of the titles – Aviator, proved to be the flagship crash game in India after monthly search volumes for terms related to the game rose tenfold between February and August last year and never lost momentum after that.
As a whole, the Top 5 most popular crash games were played by 6.53 percent of Indian active players between January and October 2022, with most traction coming from Gujarat, Telangana, Rajasthan, and Andhra Pradesh.
Besides games by Spribe, Spaceman by Pragmatic Play, as well as JetX and FootballX by Smartsoft Gaming have also achieved a highly popular status.
Even before 2022, a game called Cash or Crash by the mastodont in casino game development Evolution rose to the top spots in the segment of “Other” casino games shortly after its release in September 2021.
The game, however, is not a pure example of the crash gaming genre as it is run like a game show by a live host or dealer. Nevertheless, Cash or Crash proved the marketability of the innovative crash gaming concept and paved its way into mainstream online casinos.
