Samrat Prithviraj: Director Reveals Why Akshay Kumar’s Film Flopped
Akshay Kumar’s film ‘Samrat Prithviraj’, which released in theaters on June 3, was a flop. So at the same time, the director of the film Chandra Prakash Dwivedi has told Akshay Kumar the reason behind the flop of ‘Samrat Prithviraj’ in gesture gestures.
The director told in an interview to Film Companion that ‘The audience was very angry due to the controversy and statements made in public regarding Akshay Kumar’s pan masala ad and due to this the film could not earn much. Chandraprakash Dwivedi says that after 18 years of research, the story of the film was written, it did not take even 8 days to flop.
Chandraprakash Dwivedi had earlier said in an interview that Akshay Kumar had told him, “I have also worked in Rowdy Rathore and Housefull. These movies pay me more. I made an attempt (along with Samrat Prithviraj). If people do not like this film then there is no problem in it. I will start doing films like Rowdy Rathore again. People like to see such things which do not involve any controversy then I will start doing that.”
Talking about the film’s earnings, 20 days after its release, the film has earned 75 crores so far. At the same time, 85 to 90 crores have been earned in the world wide. According to the reports, the film has earned 65 lakhs on the 20th day.
Talking about films with Akshay Kumar, he is working in Raksha Bandhan. Bhumi Pednekar, Sadia Khateeb and Seema Pahwa are working in the lead roles with him in this film. The director of this film is Aanand L. Rai and this film is being released on the big screen on 11 August 2022.
Apart from this film, Akshay Kumar Ram Setu, Mission Cinderella, OMG 2 – Oh My God! 2, Selfiee and Soorarai are working in the Hindi remake of Pottru.
