Singing Sensation Sonu Nigam Speaks Out: ‘Could Still Be Crooning for Shah Rukh Khan’ Amidst Actors’ Silence
Actor Sonu Nigam talks about how directors defended him against record labels and how actors seldom do the same. If stars in the film business battled for singers they respected, Sonu Nigam claims he would still be singing for actors like Shah Rukh Khan. Actors may express a preference for singers, but according to an interview with Zoom Entertainment, Sonu Nigam remarked that they need to battle for the singers truly.
Would still perform for SRK
I don’t think actors quarrel or meddle with singers in their films,” Sonu stated when reminded that many actors admired him as a singer. “I would still be working with Shah Rukh Khan if that were the case. Actors often mistake the roles of composer and director. Their greatest option is to express a choice. However, they don’t defend anyone”, he added.
Laal Singh Chaddha’s issue
Sonu discussed the possibility of working with Aamir Khan on Laal Singh Chaddha and discussed their recent cooperation. Reportedly, Aamir Khan was adamant that Sonu Nigam be a part of the movie. Sonu explained that Aamir’s request for a certain vocalist in Laal Singh Chaddha was because Aamir was also the film’s producer and star.
For his part, Sonu added, “Like, in PK when I sang the song (Bhagwan Hai Kahan Re Tu), I had a tiff with the music companies” (referring to Rajkummar Hirani’s defence of Sonu). I was told not to sing in front of them”. Only Sonu, however, was allowed to perform the song when producers Rajkumar Hirani and Vidhu Vinod Chopra said, “Sonu hi gaayega.” The musician then stated that he does not think too highly of himself and instead lives each day as it comes.
Profession of Sonu
Sonu Nigam not only dominated the alternative-pop scene of the ’90s, but he also sang some of the biggest hits in Bollywood. Additionally, he provided vocals for some of Shah Rukh Khan’s smash hits, including Pardes and Dil Se.
Now he’s back with a new track featuring Gulshan Kumar and Bhushan Kumar called “Bitter Betrayals.” His comments to ANI on the new album were as follows: “I am thrilled with the response this song is getting from the listeners. Gulshan Kumar Ji is a pivotal figure in my professional development. Even with Bhushan, I have accomplished a great deal. I treated Bhushan like a brother after Gulshan Ji passed away. They were also really encouraging to me. For the film Bewafa Sanam, Sonu Nigam went back to his original version of Accha Sila Diya.
