As Amitabh Bachchan celebrates his 80th birthday today, loved ones and several well-known people took to the internet to send their good wishes to the legendary actor. The megastar received wishes and prayers from Prime Minister Narendra Modi as well for a life of health and longevity. “A very happy 80th birthday to Amitabh Bachchan Ji. He is one of India’s most remarkable film personalities and has enthralled and entertained audiences. May he lead a long and healthy life”, he tweets.

Amitabh Bachchan has won numerous honours and awards for his long career in the cinema industry. He has received many prizes at international film festivals, five National Film Awards, and 15 Filmfare Awards. He received the Padma Shri award from the Indian government in 1984, the Padma Bhushan in 2001, and the Padma Vibhushan in 2015. He received the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2018.
