Successful TV Actors Who Failed Miserably In Bollywood
The television industry and Bollywood have a deep connection. We have seen many hit tv stars trying their luck in Bollywood. On the other hand, superstars like Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan have also appeared in hosting tv reality shows. However, the journey from tv to Bollywood is quite difficult than vice versa.
\With some exceptions like SRK and Sushant Singh Rajput, who made big from tv to Bollywood, there are many other stars who failed miserably in the race. Let’s have a look at the successful tv actors who failed in Bollywood.
Gurmeet Chaudhary
Gurmeet Chaudhary made his television debut with the Ramayan series in 2008. His show ‘Geet- Hui Sabse Parayi’ gave him immense success. Gurmeet had become an overnight star at that time. His success remained high in Zee TV’s Punar Vivah also. However, his TV stardom couldn’t give him that success in Bollywood. The ‘Punar Vivah‘ actor has worked in many films including ‘Wajah Tum Ho‘ and ‘Khamoshiyan‘ but is still struggling to make a big remark in the Indian film industry.
Prachi Desai
Prachi Desai had become an overnight star through Ekta Kapoor’s show, ‘Kasam Se’. Her pair with Ram Kapoor is one of the most iconic pairs of television to date. Despite being no. 1 in the TRP, Prachi Desai quit ‘Kasam Se’ for Bollywood. The actress made her debut through ‘Rock On‘ in 2008. She also played a remarkable role in ‘Once Upon A Time In Mumbai’. However, after this project, she failed to gain audience attention in any of her films. The actress also blames nepotism for not getting enough offers for the film.
Karan Singh Grover
Who doesn’t know Karan Singh Grover from ‘Dil Mil Gay’ and ‘Qubool Hai‘? His character ‘Asad Ahmed Khan still lives in the hearts of many. The handsome hunk is a big name in the tv industry but he is also one of the actors who failed miserably in Bollywood. Apart from Hate Story 3, Mr Grover’s every film sank. Many people recognize him as the husband of Bipasha Basu and not with the identity of his work. Even after doing films, he returned to tv as Mr Bajaj in Kasauti Zindagi Kay 2.
Anita Hassandani
Anita Hassandani got her name and fame with Ekta Kapoor’s show Kavyanjali in 2005. The show was a hit and Anita Hassandani became a household name. Before making big on tv, Anita also tried her luck in Bollywood but couldn’t get success. She did films like Krishna Cottage, Kucch Toh Hai but failed to make a career in films. Seeing her future in Bollywood, she returned to tv in ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein‘. Her character ‘Sagun’ in the show became very popular.
Rajeev Khandelwal
‘Kahin Toh Hoga‘, we all watched this show in the early 2000s. The pair of Sujal and Kashish is still in our hearts and memories. Rajeev Khandelwal in the role of Sujal had become the heartthrob of girls. Well, the handsome actor didn’t get that fame in the film industry. Even after doing films like Table no. 21, Fever, he failed to leave a remark through his films. After staying away from tv for a long time, Rajeev Khandelwal returned to Sony TV’s ‘Reporters‘ in 2015.
