Taapsee Pannu Breaks Silence On Income Tax Raid, Talks About 2013 Raid As Per FM Sitharaman
On March 3, the Income Tax department conducted raids at the properties of Anurag Kashyap, Taapsee Pannu, Vikas Behl, and others. As per the reports, the raids were regarding tax evasion charges pressed against Phantom Production which was dissolved in 2018. While Taapsee and Anurag were being questioned by the IT officials, the Income Tax department in their official statement has stated that they found discrepancies of Rs 300 crores. Now, Taapsee Pannu has reacted to the same and said that she is ‘not so sasti’ anymore.
Taking to her Twitter handle, Taapsee Pannu posted three back-to-back tweets saying, “3 days of intense search of 3 things primarily.” The first tweet read, “The keys of the “alleged” bungalow that I apparently own in Paris. Because summer holidays are around the corner,” followed by another tweet that read, “The “alleged” receipt worth 5 crores to frame n keep for future pitching coz I’ve been refused that money before.” In the same thread, she wrote in her third tweet, “My memory of 2013 raid that happened with me according to our honourable finance minister P.S- “not so sasti” anymore.”
Meanwhile, India Today had reported that the IT officials claimed that Taapsee Pannu and Anurag Kashyap’s phone data has been allegedly wiped out. Kangana reacted to this, and tweeted, “IT department claims data from their phones has been wiped off, money laundering numbers and involvement of stakeholders can be shocking,I had my suspicions when I saw them provoke migrant labourers with some high budget anti India animation advertisements.”
