Actor Chum Darang has strongly condemned YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT 2 winner Elvish Yadav for his racist remarks about her during a recent podcast. Taking to Instagram on Monday, she criticised him for disrespecting her identity and mocking her name, urging a stand against racism.

Chum Darang Slams Elvish Yadav

In a strongly worded Instagram Story, Chum expressed her disappointment over Elvish’s comments. “Disrespecting someone’s identity and name is not ‘fun.’ Mocking someone’s achievements is not ‘banter.’ It’s time we draw the line between humour and hate,” she wrote.

She further called out the YouTuber for belittling her professional journey, particularly her work in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi. “What’s even more disappointing is that this wasn’t just about my ethnicity. My hard work and a film backed by a visionary like Sanjay Leela Bhansali were also disrespected,” she added.

Standing in solidarity with those who have faced racism, she stated, “To my fellow Northeasterners and everyone who has faced racism, I see you, hear you, and I stand with you. We all deserve respect, dignity, and equality. Let’s raise our voices against racism and promote a culture of empathy, kindness, and understanding.”
