Ameesha Patel Reveals Many A-List Directors And Producers Told Her Not To Do ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’- Here’s Why!

Bollywood actress Ameesha Patel became an instant hit with her first film ‘Kaho Naa…Pyaar Hai’. After that, she starred in multiple films but one that etched her name in the hearts of audiences is ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’. The film was released in the year 2001 and became one of the most epic movies in the history of Indian cinema. Now that the actress is all set to weave her magic on the silver screen with her latest installment of the Gadar franchise, she recalled the time when many people stopped her from taking up this film.

Opening up on what made her say ‘yes’ to ‘Gadar: Ek Prem Katha’, Ameesha said that although she did imagine the impact of the film, she knew that the film would become memorable. Ameesha revealed that she was impressed with the subject of the film and felt like she had to do it. She stated, “You can never tell the scale of success for a film. Sometimes, beautiful films also fail at the box office. But all I knew was that I was part of a beautiful project. It was a heartfelt, passionate film.”

Furthermore, the actress disclosed that many renowned directors and producers had told her not to do the film. They were of the opinion that she was too young to play a mother to a 7-year-old. They even warned about the age gap between her and Sunny Deol who starred with her in the film.
