Amitabh Bachchan Didn’t Speak To His Family Members For THIS Reason, While Shooting The Film, ‘K3G’: Deets inside!

Throwback to an interesting incident of Amitabh Bachchan’s film career, in which he ended up not speaking to his family members while filming one of his most renowned films.

Amitabh Bachchan didn’t speak to his family while shooting Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham

During the course of his extensive acting career, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham remains regarded as the quintessential representation of family values and love. Millions of viewers reportedly fell in love with the multi-star film, which went on to become a cult favourite. But did you also know that during the filming of a specific scene, Big B had actually once stopped speaking to his own relatives? During an earlier interview with Rediff, the senior actor’s true motivation for making this gesture was revealed by the film’s AD, Nikhil Advani. He expressed:

“Amit ji’s character kicks Shah Rukh Khan out of the house for marrying Kajol. He was supposed to say, “aaj tumne sabit kar diya ki tum mere khoon nahin.” But to get into a ‘stern’ mode, Big B stopped talking to everyone in his house.”

Jaya Bachchan was upset over Amitabh Bachchan not speaking to anyone at home

Nikhil Advani continued the disclosure by praising Amitabh Bachchan’s commitment to the role. In addition, he revealed how the actor’s wife, Jaya Bachchan, was offended by the former’s choice to cut off communication with his family in order to perfect a particular scene for the movie. Recalling how Jaya had chastised him for her husband’s altered conduct at home, Nikhil said:

“Jayaji, who is like a mother to all the ADs, reprimanded me, saying I had no idea what I had done. ‘Since the last two days, he has not been speaking to me or the kids, just moping around and being rude to everybody,’ she confided. ‘Why?’ I asked, surprised. She explained that he had been getting into the ‘zone’. ‘But he has only one line to deliver!’ I exclaimed.”

Karan Johar shared approaching Amitabh-Jaya separately for K3G

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham remains, even in contemporary Hindi cinema, a masterpiece of family dramas. Filmmaker Karan Johar had a significant amount of responsibility in assembling a cast that included some of the greatest performers of the day to bring his vision to life. During a previous meeting with fashion designer Prabal Gurung, Karan recollected that he had to contact Amitabh and Jaya individually for their parts in the movie, and that they eventually agreed to work together after much deliberation.
