According to the latest reports, the mega icon Amitabh Bachchan has rented out his Mumbai office space to Warner Music. The five-year deal gets him a jaw-dropping rental fee of Rs. 2.7 crores per year. It will come into effect from March 2024. The news comes straight after he bid a teary goodbye to the iconic game show Kaun Banega Crorepati in December last year.
Amitabh Bachchan rents out his posh office space
Amitabh Bachchan’s business acumen is sharp and tested. He does enjoy dipping in the real estate market from time to time. This time, Sr. Bachchan has rented out 4 units of his posh luxury office to Warner Music India Limited.
It’s located in Oshiwara District, Mumbai. The five-year contract sees Sr. Bachchan walking away pocketing Rs. 2.7 crores as rental fee annually.
The 4 rental office units are located on the 21st floor of the Lotus Signature building. The space stretches up to 10, 180 square feet.
Nestled in a prime location in Mumbai, the area sees a lot of business ventures and activities. Amitabh Bachchan bought these units last year in August. The office is adjacent to Sajid Nadiawala’s office.
Details of the rental deal with Warner Music
Sr. Bachchan and Warner Music India Limited have signed off a 3-year deal. The luxury units come with 12 parking spots. Rs. 2.88 lakhs were paid as a stamp duty to make the deal official.
Warner Music has put in a security deposit of Rs. 1.03 crores. For the initial 5 years, the rental fee will be Rs. 2.7 crore. From the fourth year, the rent will take a spike, hitting Rs. 2.38 crores per year. The lease will come into effect in March 2024. A stamp duty of Rs. 2.88 lakhs has already been paid.
In November 2023, Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Bachchan gifted their Mumbai residence Pratiksha to their daughter Shweta Nanda. Pratiksha is sliced into two plots. One plot opens up for 9, 585 square feet while the other sprawls for 7, 254 square feet. The bigger plot is worth Rs. 31.39 crores whereas the smaller one Rs. 19.24 crores.
Amitabh Bachchan says final goodbye to KBC
Amitabh Bachchan steered the mega-successful reality quiz show Kaun Banega Crorepati to its final run on November 29th, 2023. He ran the show for 23 years. In the final episode, Sr. Bachchan became teary-eyed while saying goodbye for the last time on the show.
“Main Amitabh Bachchan, iss daur ke liye, iss manch se, aakhri baar kehne ja raha hoon, Shubhratri, Shubhratri, Shubhratri. (I, Amitabh Bachchan, is saying from this stage, for the final time, good night, good night, good night)”.
The episode was an ensemble of memories and eminent personalities such as Sara Ali Khan, Vidya Balan, Sharmila Tagore, and Sheela Devi. The audience hailed Sr. Bachchan as ‘God’s favorite child’. The KBC stage also spoke up, thanking the megastar for its contribution.
