Israeli gymnast Artem Dolgopyat went on to win the Gold medal in Tokyo Olympics in artistic gymnastics. Now, it is a ritual in the Olympics that whichever country wins the medal, its flag is raised and the national anthem is played. When the same happened and Israel’s national anthem titled, Hatikvah was played, it sent down madness among desi Twitter. The Indians soon realized that song Mera Mulk Mera Desh from the film Diljale is actually copied from Israel’s national anthem Hatikvah. The composer of the song is Anu Malik. This led to an army of people making memes and cracking hilarious jokes on Anu Malik.

 

About Diljale

Diljale was released in 1996. It starred Ajay Devgn, Madhoo, and Sonali Bendre in the lead roles. The film was directed by Harry Baweja. In the movie, Ajay played the role of a terrorist while Sonali played his love interest. The supporting cast of the film included Parmeet Sethi, Shakti Kapoor, Gulshan Grover, and Amrish Puri.
