Bangladesh Censor Board Axes 27 Minutes Of ‘Adult’ Scenes From Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal

The movie Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, turned out to be a huge success despite its ‘A’ rating and lengthy runtime of 3 hours and 23 minutes. The film contained numerous violent scenes, as well as some intimate moments and dialogues that left the audience surprised. The film’s shock factor and the expert direction of Sandeep Reddy Vanga made it a must-watch for many moviegoers. There were also reports of people watching Animal multiple times, especially for its adult content.

It may be surprising to some that certain explicit scenes and dialogues have been removed from the movie “Animal” being shown in cinemas across Bangladesh. According to sources, the Bangladesh Film Censor Board has made it mandatory for the movie to undergo censorship in order to be released in the country. The makers of the film agreed to comply with the Board’s requirements, resulting in around 27 minutes of the content being removed. As a result, the running time of “Animal” in Bangladesh has been reduced to 2 hours and 56 minutes.

Based on a source, the version of the film “Animal” that was censored did not receive positive feedback from the audience outside of India. The movie was released on December 7 in those countries, which was later than its initial release date in India and other places where it premiered on December 1. The audience felt that the censored version failed to deliver the expected shock value.

A different source has reported that even though Salaar, which is rated ‘A’ in India, hasn’t been released in Bangladesh yet, it might be released there next week. On the other hand, Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki had a day and date release in Bangladesh at the same time as the rest of the world.

The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) in India gave the makers of ‘Animal’ an ‘A’ certificate after they made some changes to the film. They removed close-up shots in an intimate scene and modified certain cuss words appropriately. Fortunately, these changes did not affect the storyline or its impact.

Besides Ranbir Kapoor, Animal stars Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, Bobby Deol, and Triptii Dimri.
