Comedian Kapil Sharma, who is currently on a tour to Canada-US with his team has landed himself in legal trouble. As per the latest report, a lawsuit has been filed against Kapil in the NY Court by a company called Sai USA Inc for breaching his North America tour contract in 2015. According to the company, the comedian was paid for six shows, but he skipped only performed five of them. It has also stated that Sharma didn’t even respond to calls after failing to appear for the last show.
According to the sources, Sharma later promised to make up for the loss, but till today he has not done that. A popular promoter of shows in America, Amit Jaitly, has spoken about the matter and has revealed that Kapil was paid over a million dollars for his six shows. Amit stated, “He did not perform and has not responded although we tried several times to get in touch with him before the court.” He also added that action will be taken against him now.
Kapil Sharma recently grabbed headlines when he paid tribute to four famous personalities- Moosewala, KK, Kabaddi player Sandeep Singh Sandhu, and Punjabi actor Deep Sidhu during his current tour to the US. Along with Kapil is his team comprising Sumona Chakravarti, Rajiv Thakur, Kiku Sharda, Chandan Prabhakar, and Krushna Abhishek. He is scheduled to perform in New York in July.
