Drake Opens Up On Experiencing Post Covid Hair Loss

According to The American Academy of Dermatology Association, hair loss after the fever isn’t abnormal at all. In the last year, many people witnessed a bunch of their hair coming out with one stroke of comb after a few months of having a high fever or recovering from an illness. This left bald patches on the scalp of people who have had hair loss. This hair loss following fever and other respirational disorders soon became a Post-Coronavirus complication.

Now, we all know that the sensational Canadian rapper, Drake got Covid positive. Though the singer recovered in a healthy way, one thing which has taken a toll on him is hair loss. The singer has recently opened up on the most annoying Post-Covid side effect that is loss of hair. In an Instagram comment, Drake revealed that he suffered from hair loss after getting positive to Covid-19. He gave hope to his fan who pointed out the weirdness and unevenness in his hair by saying that ‘it’s coming back.

While sharing the picture of Drake, with a heart razored at the edge of his hairline, one netizen posted, “That heart is stressed.” To this Drake asked the fan to go easy on that as he got infected with the coronavirus. He replied in the comments section, “I had Covid that s**t grew in weird I had to start again it’s coming back don’t diss.”

Earlier, actress Alyssa Milano had talked about the high level of hair loss that she dealt with after contracting Covid-19. On The Dr. Oz Show in October, Milano said, “It’s hard, especially when you’re an actor and so much of your identity is wrapped up in those things, like having long silky hair and clean skin. Along with that also, I have brain fog. Which, again, as an actress, as someone who has to memorize dialogue and be able to emote, and respond, and be on my toes, it’s frightening.”

About Hair Loss Post Covid-19 Infection

The American Academy of Dermatology Association on its website has given an insight into what this actually is. “While many people think of this as hair loss, it’s actually hair shedding. The medical name for this type of hair shedding is telogen effluvium. It happens when more hairs than normal enter the shedding (telogen) phase of the hair growth lifecycle at the same time. Fever or illness can force more hairs into the shedding phase.”  It has also added that the ‘shedding can last for six to nine months before it stops’.
