Famous South actress Amala Paul was not allowed into the temple in Kerala. The actress claimed that authorities banned her from entering the Thiruvairanikulam Mahadeva Temple in Ernakulam, Kerala due to “religious discrimination”.

Only Hindus Can Enter The Temple

Amala Paul was reported to have gone to the temple on Monday, but the temple authorities, citing custom, said that only Hindus could enter the temple and could not have darshan. It’s over. The actress later claimed that she was denied darshan, which caused her to catch a glimpse of the goddess on the street near the temple.

Actress Wrote Her Anger In visitor’s Register

Amala Paul shared her experience at the temple’s visitor’s register. She claimed to have “felt the soul” even without seeing the goddess. ‘It is sad and disappointing that religious discrimination still exists in 2023,’ Amala Paul wrote in the temple’s visitor’s register. “I couldn’t get close to the Goddess, but I could feel her even from a distance. I am hopeful that religious discrimination will end soon. We will all be treated equally, regardless of religion, at some point.”

The temple authorities, run by the Thiruvairanikulam Mahadeva Temple Foundation, have been under surveillance since the incident became known. According to media reports, the temple authorities said they would follow the existing rituals. Foundation secretary Prasun Kumar said, “Many devotees of different religions come to the temple for darshan, but no one knows. However, when a celebrity shows up, it becomes issue.”
