Sara Ali Khan reacts to Janhvi’s remark
Disagreeing with Janhvi, Sara said that getting respect hasn’t been a problem with her. She said she ‘doesn’t feel under-respected at all’. In fact, she feels that she has received a lot of respect since the very beginning of her career.
Sara stated, “I don’t feel under-respected at all. I think I have been given a lot of respect. I think if audience accepts me for who I am, that’s the biggest sign of respect and touchwood, I got that very early in my career. I got respect from the very beginning of my career.”
However, Sara added that maybe Janhvi meant that she still has to prove herself as an actor with her statement.
When Janhvi appeared on We The Women event hosted by Barkha Dutt, she talked about getting multiple film offers but not getting enough respect. Janhvi quoted, “Mujhe mauke bohot mile hai, par izzat abhi tak nahi mila and I think that’s what I am working for, in my own eyes. It takes a lot to build perception and then break it.”
