As Trevor Noah kicked off the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, the former host of “Daily Show” had the audience in stitches.
On Sunday, February 4, Trevor Noah opened the 66th Annual Grammy Awards with a funny monologue. The 39-year-old comic ridiculed the criticism that Taylor Swift has recently received for attending her boyfriend Travis Kelce’s NFL games.
As Trevor started talking about her in his monologue, Taylor came to the awards ceremony. He started, “The local economy around those tables improves as Taylor Swift moves through the room.”
Defends Taylor Swift
Shortly after a clever joke saying that Lionel Richie was now “Lionel Wealthy,” Trevor spoke about Taylor at the NFL games. “I think it is so unfair how NFL fans have been complaining about the cameras cutting to Taylor Swift like she’s controlling the cameras at the games. He went on with a sharp jest about the criticism. “Every time they mention Taylor Swift, I’m going to get revenge. Every time someone says ‘Taylor Swift,’ I’m going to cut the cameras to someone who played football,” he said, before the camera cut to Terry Crews. “You like that, Terry Crews? You better fix your face, Terry! We’ve been watching you all night. No relaxing for you.”
This marks the fourth year in a row that the comic has served as the host for Music’s Biggest Night! He first hosted the big show in 2020. Over the years, The Daily Show alums have been a huge part of plenty of magical Grammy moments. such as when he introduced Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson to Adele, who is a superfan of the actor, during the 2023 award show.

Trevor is not just a host this year, but he’s also a candidate! He is vying for the Best Comedy Album title with his I Wish You Would special. In this category, he faces off against Dave Chappelle, Chris Rock, Wanda Sykes, and Sarah Silverman. The comedian has been nominated for the prize twice already. First, he was nominated for a special Son of Patricia award in 2020; sadly, Dave Chappelle won with his special Sticks and Stones.
