Riddhi Dogra says that every actor has a line which she does not want to cross. Riddhi says, ‘I would never want to do such a role, which makes women look like an object’. During a conversation, Riddhi said, ‘I cannot live as an eye candy. My professional growth has never come in the way of my principles’. Riddhi said, ‘One thing that I am very clear about myself is that I am completely against any kind of stereotyped roles and objectification. I am not interested in it.’

Riddhi further said, ‘I am strictly against showing my body unnecessarily. I can’t flaunt unless the script or the story demands it. Or it may be the story of such an innocent girl like Chameli or Chandni Bar, for which a skin show becomes necessary’. Riddhi doesn’t like item numbers either. She says, ‘I don’t want to do item songs or music videos where I am in short clothes for no reason, unless there is a story in it, because there I am not as a human being, but as a girl. If I do so, I will find it hypocritical. I can’t stand people staring at women. I cannot tolerate women being treated as a commodity. I can’t do a music video where 20 million people stare at my body with lustful eyes.’

Riddhi further said, ‘I am not judging those who do such roles. They may have their own reasons for doing such characters, but it does not mean that if everyone does, then I should too. Some people like to dance, dress up. I do too, but I don’t like item songs because women are shown as objects in them.’
