Selena Gomez recently stated in an interview with SiriuXM Hits 1 LA what she looks for in a future relationship. While her new track Soon celebrates her independence, the 31-year-old recently revealed her ideal future partner.
The 31-year-old singer, who has previously dated Justin Bieber and The Weeknd, has emphasised that, contrary to common belief, she is not “high maintenance” in the least.
“I think I have standards, and I think I live in a world right now where boys confuse standards with high maintenance,” Selena Gomez said on SiriusXM Hits 1. It is not [the same thing].”
Selena claims she’s “a little bit high maintenance, but I’m worth a try” in her new song “Single Soon.” The singer says that she has specific expectations and criteria for her lovers.
“The line was really enjoyable because I’m not ashamed to say, ‘I actually require X, Y, and Z for you to be with me,” she explained. So, in a way, it was merely meant to be for the song’s attitude. So that’s what I really feel.”
Selena Desires A “Cool” Future Partner.
Selena claimed that she is willing to risk heartbreak in order to find love. Despite her previous losses, the chart-topping singer is still determined to find love.
“I feel like giving myself completely to something is the best way I can love,” Selena Gomez said on the ‘On Purpose’ podcast. But I never wanted the suffering to create a guard around me, an armour if you will, and I never let it happen because I still believe and hope.”
As Gomez told Tony Fly and Symon on SiriusXM Hits 1 LA, “You’ve got to be cool.” Not cool in the sense that others think you’re cool. You only have to be courteous and please make me laugh, as well as be nice to my family and people around you.”
Gomez has made it clear that she is enjoying her single life while she waits for the right person. Everyone goes through a phase of saying, “Oh, it’d be nice to have someone,” and I understand.
“But I’m just comfortable where I am, and I want to be pleased with who I am so that when that person comes into my life, they can add to me rather than take away from me.”
