Today is the birth anniversary of the late actor Irrfan Khan, who left his mark from Bollywood to Hollywood. The actor left the world on 29 April 2020 saying goodbye. Got The First Film While Studying But…
Irfan was selected by Mira Nair for a big role in Salaam Bombay when he was studying at the National School of Drama. He also attended the workshop in Mumbai in those days but later he was told that he was not a part of the film. In an interview given to BBC, he said that he kept crying throughout the night. In return, he was given a small role. However, Mira Nair repaid its debt after 18 years by giving the role of Ashok Ganguly in The Namesake to Irrfan Khan.
Irfan Was Ready To Become A Hindu To Marry Sutapa Sikdar:
Irrfan Khan married NSD’s friend Sutapa Sikander on 23 February 1995. Sutapa always stood by Irfan’s struggling days. He is the same Sutapa who has written films like Supari and Shabd. When Irfan decided to marry Sutapa, he had also agreed to change religion for him, but Sutapa’s family members agreed for the marriage of both, after which Irfan did not need to change religion.
