Netflix on Tuesday announced the release date of Hindi cinema’s famous lyricist Anvita Dutt’s second film as a director, ‘Qala’, who came into the limelight as a film director from the film ‘Bulbul’. Late actor Irrfan Khan’s son Babil is in the lead role in the film, along with ‘Bulbul’ heroine Trupti Dimri and the increasingly popular OTT actor Amit Sial. The film is releasing with Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘An Action Hero’ and Ishaan Khattar’s ‘Pippa’ but the film ‘Qala’ will be released on OTT a day before both these films reach theatres.

Qala

Set in pre-independence Kashmir, the story of ‘Qala’ is the story of a singer from the fourth and fifth decades of the last century. The name of this singer is Qala and when her sad past once again comes in front of her present, her hard earned reputation and her social status seem to be in danger. Both the beginning and end of this shake-up mode are linked to the singer’s relationship with her mother. The climax of the film ‘Qala’ tries to influence the success of the singer as the dark shadows of the events that took place during Qala’s upbringing.

Qala

Anvita Dutt, the director of the film ‘Qala’, chose Babil as the hero of this film. Irfan Khan’s son Babil has been associated with cinema from the beginning. He was part of the team of technicians of the film Kareeb Kareeb Single. Apart from this, he has also been associated with various drama troupes. Babil’s inclination has been towards acting from the beginning. Babil is paired opposite actress Trupti Dimri in the film ‘Qala’. Clean Slate Films’ previous film ‘Bulbul’ has been the turning point for Tripti Dimri’s career.

Qala

The cast of the film ‘Qala’ includes Babil, Tripti and Amit Sial, Neer Rao, Avinash Raj Sharma, and Ashish Singh besides Swastika Mukherjee. The film is produced by Karnesh Sharma’s company Clean Slate Films. This company was established by Karnesh along with his sister Anushka Sharma, but now Anushka has separated from this company. The shooting of the second season of another web series ‘Patal Lok’ by Clean Slate Films is also going on in full swing.
