‘Jab We Met’, released in 2007, quickly became a talk of the town in Indian cinema due to its popularity. The film garnered widespread acclaim for its engaging storyline, powerpack performances, and soulful music. The 2007 released film, Jab We Met starred Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor in the lead roles. Audiences loved the movie not only for its narrative but also for Bebo (Geet’s) memorable dialogues and her on-screen chemistry with Shahid Kapoor. Recently, reports are rife that director, Imtiaz Ali is planning to direct a sequel of Jab We Met. And now, the filmmaker has addressed the rumors circulating about Jab We Met sequel.

Imtiaz Ali reacts to the speculations of Jab We Met Sequel

During an interview with News18, director Imtiaz Ali opened up about the ongoing speculations regarding a sequel to Jab We Met. Reacting to it, Imtiaz stated, “No, it’s not happening.” The filmmaker further mentioned that directing a sequel to the film is not in his ‘to-do’ list as of now. In his words:

“I don’t have a story for Jab We Met 2 yet. I’ve heard of these and read these reports and articles. Nobody asked me before publishing them, so I don’t know what to say. But let’s see what happens.”

Shahid Kapoor’s latest tweet sparks rumors about his new project with Imtiaz Ali

Although director, Imtiaz Ali dismissed all the false claims surrounding Jab We Met’s sequel. However, it was notable to observe how Bollywood actor, Shahid Kapoor’s tweet grabbed extreme attention online.

Let us tell you that the actor posted a tweet on his Twitter handle in June 2023. One of the fans asked Shahid Kapoor, “I’ve noticed that you and Imtiaz Ali have been interacting a lot recently! Is there any project in the works?”

Responding to the fan’s question, Shahid penned, “Smart Boy”, which resulted in further rumors about his collaboration with Imtiaz Ali, most probably a sequel on a film after 16 years.
