The most-talked about wedding of the year finally happened yesterday and Bollywood got one more power couple in the name of Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal. From their wedding venue, guest list to their outfits, everything about this wedding was in the hype. Now when the cat is finally out of the bag, designer Sabyasachi Mukherjee has also revealed some details about the clothes he designed for the bride and the groom.
According to the description given by the official Instagram page of the designer, Katrina’s dupatta paid homage to Vicky Kaushal’s Punjabi roots with a little detail. The red lehenga worn by Katrina was made of ‘handwoven matka silk with fine tilla work and meticulously embroidered revival zardozi borders in velvet’. “In homage to the groom’s Punjabi roots, her veil is custom-trimmed with handmade Kiran in hand-beaten silver electroplated in gold,” the post said. She also wore jewellery designed by Sabyasachi.
Vicky’s off-white sherwani was an ‘ivory silk sherwani with intricate marori embroidery and iconic Sabyasachi handcrafted gold plated Bengal Tiger buttons, with a silk kurta and churidar’. He also wore a tussar georgette shawl. His safa was paired with a handcrafted kilangi and statement necklace, the post read.
Vicky and Katrina made their wedding Insta official by posting a set of photos with an identical note. “Only love and gratitude in our hearts for everything that brought us to this moment. Seeking all your love and blessings as we begin this new journey together,” they wrote.
Many of their Bollywood colleagues including Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra, Tiger Shroff, Alia Bhatt, Hrithik Roshan, and Kareena Kapoor took to the comments section to wish the newlyweds a happy and blissful married life.
Vicky and Katrina got hitched at the Six Senses Fort Barwara in Rajasthan. The wedding was attended by a few celebrities, including Radhika Madan, Malavika Mohanan, Kabir Khan, Mini Mathur, and Gurdas Maan.
