Meghna Naidu Says She Was Tired Of Being Called B-Grade Actress: ‘Stopped Attending Parties’

Actress Meghna Naidu who stayed away from the camera for almost 5 years, is now making a comeback again. She appeared in Lata Mangeshkar’s song ‘Kaliyon Ka Chaman’ in 2002 and became a heartbeat of millions. In a recent interview, Meghna revealed why she distanced herself from the showbiz. She said that she was so tired of being referred to as a B-grade actress that she had stopped going to Bollywood parties.

Meghna discloses what made her stay away from industry

Talking about her comeback, Meghna told ETimes that she is happy to return to the industry at a time when actors have a chance to experiment more with their roles. She stated, “Initially when I was called hot and sexy, I used to love it. But later, I realized that it was hindering my growth. I was seen as a sex object, which bothered me. This led me to reject Hindi films, in which I had to do kissing or love making scenes. I wanted to play different types of characters, but no one used to offer me such roles. I stopped attending Bollywood parties because I was called a B-grade actress.”

Meghna says that even though she has done small budget films, filmmakers respect her. Right now actors have a lot of opportunities to explore and she is very happy about this.
