Mom-To-Be Dipika Kakar Reveals She Is Diagnosed With THIS Disease During Last Trimester; Find Out!

TV actress Dipika Kakar is currently enjoying her pregnancy phase as she is soon going to welcome her first child with husband Shoaib Ibrahim. The actress is in her third semester but an unfortunate incident has happened with her. Actually, Dipika has developed a disease at this stage of her pregnancy. She dropped a video to share a health update and told the fans about her illness. The actress also shared the reason behind getting this disease occurs and ways to control it.

Dipika diagnosed with gestational diabetes

In the new vlog on her YouTube channel titled ‘Dipika Ki Duniya’, the ‘Sasural Simar Ka’ actress revealed that she has been diagnosed with gestational diabetes. She stated, “I am suffering from gestational diabetes which is a type of diabetes that develops in the 24-28 week of pregnancy. Even if one does not have diabetes before pregnancy, this can happen to them. During this time of pregnancy, the risk of developing this disease is highest. In recent reports, my blood sugar level really high.”

What is gestational diabetes?

Deepika explained that she used to think whether the cause of her blood sugar rise is eating too many mangoes, rice or sweets. But then, she was eating everything only after consulting her doctor. Then she realised that gestational diabetes does not depend on what you eat in the previous months. As the baby and placenta grow, it releases several hormones. These hormones cause insulin resistance which is why you become a victim of the disease. It happens with many pregnant ladies.

How is Dipika controlling gestational diabetes?

Dipika further said that she cannot eat sugar, bakery, dates, rice, sweets and can only consume some fruits like apples, pears. Exercise is important while walking is the best way to control it. She needs to be active and mindful. Dipika told that she is taking extra precautions as her mother is a diabetic. She also shared that she has been given proper medicines besides changing some of her lifestyle habits.
