Nawazuddin Siddiqui Pens A Heartfelt Poem After Losing International Emmy Award-Checkout!

Many Bollywood celebs and makers have made India proud this year. The reason is their nomination in the International Emmy Awards. A-list actor, Nawazuddin Siddiqui also got nominated in the Best Actor category at the prestigious awards show. But even after giving his best performance, Siddiqui could not win the title. Recently, he has reacted to the same with a poem. Through his words, Nawazuddin has poured his heart out. The actor has shared the poem in his latest Instagram post. In his post, Nawazuddin Siddiqui wrote in Hindi, an excerpt from which translates to: “Went to New York but couldn’t be the nawab. Will keep trying.”

His post could be read as, “Phoolein mein phool, phool hai gulaab, New York toh chale gaye, bann na paye nawab. Koshish jaari rahegi, adaab.” In another post, Nawazuddin added: “The sun rises in the east and sets in the west… Do whatever you want to, but be the best.”

Nawazuddin attended the award ceremony in person in New York’s Great Hall of Casa Cipriani. He was nominated in the Best Actor category for the Netflix film Serious Men. The Gangs of Wasseypur actor lost to David Tennant for his performance in the drama series Des. Speaking to a leading daily earlier this month, Nawazuddin shared his point of view on the content coming up on OTT platforms and the competition between digital productions and big screen cinemas: “There already was a lot of audience on OTT for some years now. Even when the cinemas were functioning properly, people were moving to watching OTT content. The fact of the matter is that achhi cheez jaha ayegi, log usko dekhenge (people will navigate towards a medium which has good content).”

In 2019, the Nawazuddin-Saif Ali Khan starrer show Sacred Games was nominated for the Best Drama Series at the International Emmys. The show lost the title to another crime show, McMafia, which also featured Nawazuddin in a brief role. Besides Nawazuddin, Vir Das’ Netflix comedy special Vir Das: For India (in the Best Comedy category) and Sushmita Sen’s (in the Best Drama category) Disney+ Hotstar show Aarya were the two other nominations from India. But unfortunately, none of these won the award.
