In the beginning of the video shared on the social media, Anupam Kher says, “With God’s grace and with all your love and blessings, I have done 522 films. I am Anupam Kher, I become a character, I Act, I Laugh, I cry. That’s my gist. But this time I am not a character. I didn’t act and The Kashmir Files isn’t even a dialogue-filled story.”

Talking about Kashmiri Pandits of the state, the actor says, “32 years ago, lakhs of Kashmiri Hindus were ravaged. My hands, legs, arms, this body were trampled upon by Jihad overnight. The country remained oblivious. The police as if disappeared. The army remained in the cantonments. And Kashmir was evacuated from the Hindus of state.”

The disappointed and despondent actor complains about the pain the Hindus had, that “No inquiry has been conducted on exodus of Kashmiri Pandits. Till date no commission sat. No trial. No one found guilty. No one convicted. Yes the issue was raised. But The court, that opens up in the middle of the night for jihadis, refused to even listen to us.”
